ken_cinder
1.2GB of memory? That's disgusting, XP Pro with all the bells and whistles and my filemanager running with firefox open and antivirus etc etc, is using 590MB of RAM here. Hell my PEAK usage was under 800MB, and that was after running MAME! uTorrent running also.

ken_cinder
That doesn't matter. That's like saying "I'm a millionaire, so I don't care that gas costs $5 a gallon/$2 a litre". Attached a screenshot as proof in previous post.
gavin19
It does seem a bit much. Typically XP uses 400MB, and when I used Vista Ultimate it was more like 700MB. I read that MS said the minimum requirements were the same as Vista, ie. 1GHz processor/1 GB RAM/15GB HDD space. I'm due to get a new computer soon and I thought 2GB would have been ok, but I think I'll go with 4GB now to be safe. I guess I'm too used to this slimline, lightweight OS. Looks like I'll just have to put up with the bloat like everyone else

Bobdrakke
Just wait for a tweaked ver just like last xp / tiny xp, or try 2003/8 or even 64bit XP(vista drivers seem to work from internet postings same for 2k8).

Gryph
Very strange. I haven't heard of that happening elsewhere.
