svt_lightning
not the I'm going to be using my custom PC I was wondering if my mames need to be upgraded? I have mame32k for online and mame ver 117 ( for SF III) online is there a better mame out without online just playing by myself (updated one) or should I just stick to those I listed above b/c people mostly use 32k for online
Inky
if all your games are working and everything works like you like it, I see no reason to go updating. there are so many different mame releases that it's almost impossible to keep up on them. Robert posts news on Mame updates all the time.
gavin19
Personally I use MameUI FX32. It's as feature rich a version of Mame as I can ever remember using. Not recommended if you need to run something lightweight though.
Inky
when I was using mame I was using mame 117++. which seemed fine.

svt_lightning
no 85% of my games work the 15% that is there I use mame 117+ (3D games or SFIII) but it comes to my attention that people still use mame32k mostly and I can't play them unless I have the same ver. svt_lightning
can MameUI FX32. play SFIII and the other 3D games like mame plus
Agozer
SFIII like all the other CPS-3 games aren't 3D games. Yes, MAMEUI can play them. All MAME builds have roughly the same core which means they will also play the same games (as long as they use the same base MAME version and we are not taking into account some weird derivative build like the ones that use PSEmuPro plugins to get speed in "true" 3D games). svt_lightning
haha and yet I still cant get killer instint to work on mame LOL!
ken_cinder
I still run MAME32 0.87 in my cab, anything newer is too much of a resource hog, as the MAME core was bitchslapped into dragging it's feet after that.
