lordevol
Hallo everybody,I can't remember the name of an old arcade games around 1990 and I hope you could help me,I played it an entire summer here in Italy, near Venice, but the only thing I remember is that:1) the "hero" starts his adventure (level 1) from the foot of a big mountain 2) the game was played form down (base of moutani) to the top of the moutain (vertical mode). I know it's a mission "impossible" but i Try: does anybody remember a game like this? Edited March 16, 2009 by lordevol

lordevol
Thanks for the answers! But the game is not contra (the hero had not firegun, wasn't a muscle-hero, but something like a fatty-hero (not wonderboy)and it's not magic sword as well (but the moutain was VERY similar to this one http://www.retrocpu.com/mame/images/roms/m..._us_900725.png) In "my" game the level 1 ends when the hero reach the top of the mountain did you play with any weapons in the game?the only thing i can think about is the stage in contra where you have to jump up on platforms to reach the top of a waterfall, anymore info.I don't remember hero's weapon (but i think he had weapons), I remember the "natural" ambient, I think that the hero had a cape and maybe it could fly a little (but it's not bombjack)I remember that brown(grey?) rocky mountain,I remember that the mountain in the first level (the only one that I remember) had 8-15 steps to reach the top (and change to level 2). The screen visualization was from down to the top of the mountain (like donkey kong, but with the moutain steps instead the platform, and the scrolling screen (down to up) instead of the static screen of donkey kong). I know, it's so confusing, it tooks me about 1 year to remember the other mame game that I played about 20 years ago (it was "bonze adventures" ) I made an horrible img that can't help: http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/3417/gamelke.jpg Ciao! Agozer
Ninjakun Maou no Daibouken or Ninja Kid II? http://maws.mameworld.info/maws/romset/ninjakunhttp://maws.mameworld.info/maws/romset/ninjakd2 The version you played very likely isn't the arcade version, but some home console port. lordevol
I don't think, the grapfhics is not good as I remember (maybe I'm simply too old) but I will try it on a big screen soon,it's a 1984 game, and I think "mine's one" should be around 1990,I'm downloading now the "coinop ignite" for xbox, and I try every 1000 game to search it
Inky
I've never understood trying to hunt down some random game that you can't remember anything about except the hero was fat with a cape.. Obviously it wasn't very good if you can't remember anything about it.
ken_cinder
Roc'n Rope? http://maws.mameworld.info/maws/romset/rocnrope Might help if you tell us the screen type. It's vertical (like most shmups) but does the screen scroll to the side or scroll up?Are you looking down on your character like you're kind of above them, or from the side (like Mario Bros)?
