Robert
Plugin Glide64 is a graphics plugin for N64 emulators such as Project64, 1964 and Mupen64. It uses the 3dfx Glide3x API, and it supports many games. If you don't have a 3dfx card, you can use a Glide Wrapper. Lenth of Truth for Zelda MM was broken in previous release. I finally found time to fix it. Also this release contains fixes for Beetle Adventure Racing, Mortal Kombat 4, PGA European Tour and may be others.>> Get it HERE. I could see it if the N64 video hardware was Voodoo/3DFX based but it's not.
Agozer
AFAIK, it has to do with the Voodoo being better at handling the N64's framebuffer effects and objects better (apparently more so than other cards). Mudlord can answer your question in more detail, no doubt.
