Johnny Sasaki Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Okay.. I'm new to all this burning disks for dreamcast use and like 3 days after that It just stops working when I try to play a disk. I already try cleaning the pins but its still doing it. Any advice?
The-Ice-Man Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Is it just burnt disks that it does it with or originals too?
The-Ice-Man Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 What happens exactly? I had a dreamcast that worked fine for ages, then one day it started to stop working. It would sometimes play a disc for a minute or two, and then just cut out, as if the signal to the TV had gone or something. Sometimes it would cut out straight after the dreamcast logo movie, and sometimes it'd not even get that far. I had to get a new dreamcast in the end, but it was years later till I bothered coz I had an xbox by then and didn't play my dreamcast much. Last year though I missed my old dreamcast games so I bought a replacement off ebay.
Johnny Sasaki Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 Well its boots into the menu fine, the play, music, vmu screen. But when I try to play a disk, the consel just resets over and over and over and over till it just shuts off.
The-Ice-Man Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Some dreamcasts seem to break after a while. I wish they'd make new ones. Coz if you replace it you're only replacing it with second hand, which could break the same way after a while. If you know anyone that could repair it get them to have a look, otherwise go look on ebay.
Shibathedog Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Try this stuff here, I've fixed many by pushing those pins (If you really want to make sure it never breaks again you could drop some solder in there, but you have to be real careful it doesn't connect with any next to it or it will explode) http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/sega/dc-reset.htm
