Hera Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 I know what to do with emulation when it comes to a computer but I wanted to know if it was possible to put a Nintendo64 emulator on my PS3. If so, how do I do it? Hopefully this is a permissible question. If not, could someone guide me in the right direction for reference?
emsley Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Im sure it can if the Xbox can do it. http://www.ps3-hacks.com/ Im not sure though , that site might help.
The-Ice-Man Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I've seen a PS3 running an Amiga emulator through Linux, I think it's likely that any emulator that can be run on Linux can be run on a PS3, so long as you have a PS3 that has Linux.
Hera Posted November 10, 2009 Author Posted November 10, 2009 I've heard that if you do that with your PS3, you won't be able to use the PSN.
The-Ice-Man Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 No idea. Someone here said that they stopped selling the ones with Linux anyway.
Inky Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 yeah the new slims can not install linux at all. I'm really surprised the PS3 hasn't been hacked yet.
Hera Posted November 11, 2009 Author Posted November 11, 2009 I don't have a slim. It was a gift when it first came out. I'll figure it out later.
Gouken Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 PS3 has not been hacked. It most likely will never be hacked due to all the security checks in the system. Your best bet is to get a good version of Linux and run emulators on there. No, Linux will not in any way interfere with PSN.
L.S.D Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Why you want to play a N64 games on PS3? The graphic will look bad on a HDTV.
