Are games sucking more or are we just old gamers?

i remember the much added reply value it adds to alot of games (especially FF tactics)

I used to abuse that as a child on all my pokemon games. It was hilarious fun!

yeah gameshark was cool, I never really used it for cheating though I always liked using those codes that would do fucked up things to the game.

I remember me and my fiend having a blast with the Game Genie during the NES haydays. Nothing like playing World Cup or Turtles II: The Arcade Game with some badass cheats enabled.

that was the only way you could beat some of those NES games. But entering those arcane codes by d-pad.... I don't miss that. haha.

Plus, the old games had some classic cheats built into them, like the now legendary Konami Code in Contra/Probotector and "BARRAL" in Donkey Kong Country (I figured out the latter literally by accident when I messed around with the controller).

IIRC, enter it in the title screen and it'll give you 30 lives per continue.
