Difference between a regular XBox and XBox 360?

I just bought a regular XBox for my son's birthday.

I am looking for games online and see some games that are for XBox 360, Can those be played on a regular XBox?

no but xbox 1 games can be played on 360

Depending on his computer savvy, He can come back here and learn a lot more awesome things he can do with his Xbox1, than can be done on a 360.

But if he's wanting to play all the shiny new 360 games, I'm affraid you bought the wrong console. Keep it however, coz like the man says, you can do a lot of awesome things with an original xbox if you learn.
