Oblivion is amazing in its own right. Sure, I have not play Morrowind, so I can't compare but I always love FPS + D&D setting + awesome magic spells + huge places to explore. So, a win-win for me.

Go back to primm, into the Bison Steve Hotel (The hotel where you have to kill all the powder gangers inside) as soon as you enter head straight forward out of the reception room into the hallway. A tad to the right, still heading forward is another room that looks like a gift shop. Behind the counter there is a skill book, and a safe in the floor containing Lucky. A badass unique 357 magnum. I think you need a lockpick of 50 to get it though.

 

You know what I have been finding the MOST badass about this game though? All the references. Everything in the whole damn game is related to something in real life. Interesting stuff too and not just wooo another random cultural reference.

 

Mr. House is based off Howard Hughes, wait until you see what they do with that! Make sure you meet him in person! I liked the whole Repcon/Pepcon thing too. Actually I could go on about a lot of things I liked. Some of them I didn't even notice right away until I read the wiki and was like OH SHIT DAMN!!!

Im ready to make some noise. Its a good thing I had plenty of saves, a quest broke, "The house always wins, I" When I would enter the casino, the droids would shoot me. I didnt do anything since I got the quest, I promptly left Vegas and began to wander the wastes again.

 

So I reloaded a save, only lost a level or so.

 

Weapons are great in this game.

BTW What do you mean by you can run Crysis fine. Most everyone can run Crysis fine. Its running it maxed out that gives people the e-peen. People act like if you can't max it out you can't play it.

 

I'm running 5 year old hardware...that's why. Some of my gear doesn't even meet the minimum requirements, yet I can run the game perfectly smooth on medium-high settings at 1024x768. Fallout 3 runs even better for me, maxed out at that resolution.

 

I won't drop hundreds on new hardware every few months. Nuh uh. Anyone who thinks there is a hugely discernible difference between a resolution like that and something insanely higher is an idiot. Now there's a bit of a difference between that and the widescreen res I run my desktop at, but it hinders my performance. (1360x768), the difference between that and like 25xxx1xxx is imaginary bullshitting on the hardcore's part.

Well 1024X768 isn't really a hard resolution to run anything at. I remember when it used to be though - I would be fucking PISSED if my computer couldn't play a game and I had to play on 800X600 or even 640X480! Your right but I have to say it does help make things smoother up to a certain point. Once I started playing at 1280X1024 I never went back to 1024X768. When I started playing at 1600X1200 however I thought this looks a bit better, but if I can't run things I can always fall back to 1280, now I just stay at 1600 because I can. It probably bothers me mainly because my eyes are so sharp if I play at too low a resolution I can see the lines around the pixels and it starts driving me nuts and I can't stop staring at them instead of what is on screen. This is the same reason I prefer to bump res instead of AA too.

 

I usually end up upgrading for free because when people ask me to build a computer I'll ask them hey ill give you X part from my PC if you buy me part Y and that can be my payment if I don't need money for anything.

Are you playing on console? I read this happens A LOT. It has me paranoid to the point that even on the PC version I create a new save file every time I save.

Console and I highly recommend having multiple saves. I have 5 I cycle. Once I got a message some NCR guy died, I have no idea who or where he was. I loaded and he didnt die again. I looked up the name and I wasnt far from where he was, although when I checked on him after the reload, I couldnt find him.

 

I heard alot of people get locked out of vegas, but apparently someone said you can kill a securitron and take his key. As to if this is true or creates a problem, I dont know.

 

The constant issues I deal with are the game freezing. It has froze at least 10 times on me. And often the game takes FOREVER to load a new area, be it going through a door or quick travel. Along with this is worse than frame rate issues, its more like really bad lag. I gotta save and exit to the dashboard to fix that.

I play on a 50" Plasma in my living room...so if there was a discernible difference to be seen on the uber-high resolutions people claim (That LCD's can't even do natively and DOWNSCALE anyway) look so much better, I'd see it.

 

Now a nice big CRT display that CAN display over 1920x1080 (Widescreen or not)...I may agree, but not at resolutions beyond 1600x1200, there is not a consumer grade CRT display large enough that you could POSSIBLY discern ANY difference.

 

Anyone running a higher resolution than this that claims to see a difference, is a fucking liar...flat out. I have better than 20/20 vision with perfect color pickup, if I can't see it...nobody else can. There's technical limitations too, you ever seen a texture map large enough that this would be noticeable? Show me a 2048x2048 texture that isn't poorly detailed and used at a 1:4 scale anyway....

Gah what the fuck is this game doing to me - I set my lock pick skill to 50 then all of a sudden its dropped to 48 wtf??

The gun shibat is on about is a safe with a pick skill of 75 To get at it.

This game blows for ammo.

I got the ratslayer in the cave (fucking cave take me ages to find) Those rats were fucking HUGE they kicked the shit out of me I had to use a stalth boy to get close then lay down some frag mines, I am really crap at hacking terminals too best i got was 4/6 guess my brain just cant figure it out. On the way out I ran for my life when 5 of the fuckers came at me.

 

i sneaked a frag mine in to this guys pocket and he flew apart hahaha.
