BTW the ROM should work in any version of NeoGenesis.. including the ones released by x-port.

 

No coding magic required. The ROM itself is a dump that just happens to work in Genesis emulators and not the arcade machine that the ROM originated from.

it is the rom from the hazemd set and i have tried many time to get it to work on neogenesis and xenesis but have never had any luck it always stuck on the title screen.

Make sure you have the one named "Super Bubble Bobble (Unl) [c][!].bin" and with a CRC of B3FE23C4.

 

By the naming convention used I gather it is from the goodset.

I think the "Super Bubble Bobble" that was released for CoinOPS was modified to include the Game genie code, to bypass the copy protection for this game.

 

I got the no-intro version working in NeoGenesis, by using the Game Genie code - FJVT CA9E.

 

The rom does not need to be modified, just use the "Cheat Code Database" feature in NeoGenesis.

May not actually be copy protection. Just a poorly tested hack of another genesis game. Apparently the original image does work on a small handful of original genesis consoles.
