fumanchu Posted January 10, 2015 Share Posted January 10, 2015 Here is an upload i just finished fo9r kawax v11 and a full arcade romset.Kawax is a port of kawaks the cps1,cps2 and neogeo emulator for pc.this was released in 2004/5 for the original xbox and i think is the best neogeo emulator on xbox.i have included the full arcade romset in the download.also included in the download is a hacked default.xbe which lets you play progear the cps2 cave shooter.to play progear just go into your file manager on your dashboard and launch the file called progear.xbe.remember to rescan your roms when the emulator loads up by pressing the X button on your controller.use the back left and right triggers on your controller to switch between cps1,cps2 and neogeo games.release infoWHAT'S NEWv0.11===== - Added lowpass filter for sound. Toggle it from the in game menu - Disabled that Start+Back shortcut to exit games. Some people were exiting games by accident. Now if you want to exit a game, you have to use the ingame menu (right thumb click) - Applied some XBE version patching on the executable. That may fix issues some people have had with the emu not starting ? - Configurable rompath. Just edit rompath.ini - Kawa-X now stores on the HD what romsets you have or haven't so now, there is only a scan the first time you launch the emu. That should fix the problem people have had with the emu taking ages to boot up. It will only take ages the first time If you want to force a rescan, hit the X button on the game list. - Fixed some problems with the provided CLRmame and RomCenter dat files I provide with the emu. Files inside NEOGEO.ZIP were reported with the wrong names in some places. By the way if people have problems starting Neogeo games they should check the following: In their NEOGEO.ZIP: NG-LO.ROM should be named 000-LO.LO NG-SFIX.ROM should be named SFIX.SFX NEO-GEO.ROM should be named SP-S2.SP1-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kawa-X is the XBox port of a Windows emulator I made some time ago named Kawaks. It allows to play titles from the Capcom CPS1, CPS2 and SNK NeoGeo library. Pretty much all games are supported, even these 90mb monsters that would normally not fit into the XBox's limited 64mb RAM. (This emu includes a significant amount of black magic ) For the more recent encrypted NeoGeo games, though, only the decrypted form is supported (64Mb of RAM won't allow to do the decryption). Kawaks (PC version) can produce decrypted sets, if you only have encrypted versions... See the included list of supported titles for more info... There's the following goodies waiting inside : - CPS1, CPS2, NeoGeo support (doh) - Plenty of nice eye candy video filters (more about that later) - Redefinable controls (including handy macros like keys to do 3 punches, etc) - Can save screenshots - Savestates (8 slots per game) - You can play NeoGeo games either in arcade mode or in console mode - You can switch region (language settings) for every supported CPS2 game. For example, that means you can play the normally japanese only Mighty Pang in english if you want... About video filters. The following video engines are supported: - Regular blurry non filtered output. - AdvanceMAME 2x scaling - A zoom 200% output named Zoom 2x (fast and sharp) - 2xSai - Super2xSai - SuperEagle - A RGB effect which I named Monitor matrix that simulates lowres monitor ouput Imo, the one that looks the best is AdvanceMAME2x, so I made it the default. 2xSai, Super2xSai, SuperEagle ask for a lot of horsepower from the console, so I don't recommend using them (can cause slowdowns). AdvanceMAME2x looks just as good and is way faster anyway. The files Kawa-X generates are stored on E:\TDATA\0000FA7E That's where you'll find the screenshots you saved and the settings for all the games. Normally you won't need to mess with there but well... The rest is pretty obvious, there's even an help screen built in to remind you the controls to access the features in the emu. Roms go in the \ROMS subdirectory. For NeoGeo games you need the NeoGeo BIOS file (neogeo.zip) too... The problem I'm having is I have Kawa-X on my Xbox a friend did for me some years ago, and out of nowhere while while I was in the capcom section the screen just started moving down out of the screen and all I could see is black. I tried to stop it but I was too slow. I know that if you you use the right analog stick and everything you can re position it but its not working. I looked online for a answer and that's how I ended up here. I actually seen you fumanchu I think another page talking about this problem with someone else before. I even tried deleting the save file but that didn't work and I don't know much about ftp but if I really had to I'm sure I could figure it out. I even tried to burn this one on this post but it didn't work, I'm going to try again but I was curious if a solution for this problem ever came up. sorry for the long post but this problem has been driving me crazy because all of the capcom games after it happened all turned black for some reason. fumanchu Posted February 13, 2015 Author Share Posted February 13, 2015 take a look inside the kawax folder in your xbox hdd and see if there are files inside on of the folders in the kawax emu which are/end with .iniif there is then delete those ini files and see if that makes your cps2 roms work. Amano215 Posted April 8, 2015 Share Posted April 8, 2015 I know it's been awhile but I got annoyed by the situation, everything I tried never worked but I managed to find a Xbox already modded on craigslist and I burned your newer version of Kawa and it worked. For some reason the burned copy didn't work on my other Xbox, I'm guessing the save file in the settings or something is stuck and that problem still persists and I tried everything I could think of. I'm going to try and Ftp my new xbox and experiment with it, I never tried it before but it seems fairly simple. My other one a friend did awhile back and he hooked me up, put a new hard drive in there and everything so I don't want to experiment too much on that one but since I have a back up I feel a lot better about the situation. Sorry for the long message but I do have one question. If I delete my old Kawa since it doesn't work and I know I can still play it on my other xbox should I try and delete it all together, and try to install the newer version, do you think that would fix the problem? fumanchu Posted April 8, 2015 Author Share Posted April 8, 2015 i dont know what you mean by a new version?as it is still the same download in the first post.to be honest in your old xbox,it probably was a ftp issue as in some files must have not transfered over properly.if you have kawax and the romset i posted burned to disc you can always use your file explorer in your dashboard to copy the files to your xbox hdd.the unleashx and xbox media centre dashboard lets you do this.as for deleting kawax on your older xbox well thats entirely up to you.
