Windows 10 -- anybody upgrade?

Any of you guys update yet to Windows 10? If so, what are your experiences thus far?

I just want the stupid icon in my system tray gone...no interest in Windows 8.2

I got an email saying I'll get it on aug. 17th, now to wait.

I don't have any machine to upgrade from, also the lack of security worries me, where half the OS is stored on cloud servers. Also they know all your passwords and share them around with whoever they see fit.

 

I *might* get it for a machine that isn't on the net, if it's able to be done.

How do you know they would share them? And there are a lot of privacy controls for Windows 10, so you can turn most, if not all of that cloud stuff off.

(this last one followed the revelation that when microsoft found a bug, they informed the NSA so they in turn could spy on you for a while before microsoft released a windows update patch).

I did it. It took 4 hours on my 5 year old Sony Viao windows 7 laptop but it works fine with no issues at all.
