go to mame's website, many others have the dos version too, i would recommend the win versions for xp though, that's what i switched too.

XP isn't good for DOS apps, especially emulators...

I don't really see why you would use dos mame in XP, but that's your problem

For all dos programs that don't run in windows, try DosBox.

daemon tools are for using cd images like isos on your pc

for runnong dos mame you need a mame frontend

When you select 'Mount' for a specific ISO/whatever, it's basically the same thing as putting a CD into the drive.
