Feyd Rautha
Sorry if this is the wrong forum. Does anyone know anything about Beatmania IIDX, Guitar Freaks, Pop 'n Music or DDR games being readied for emulation?
Soundboz
I know that they're making an emulator that's a form of mame (dj station I THINK, search around ) That emulates: All beatmania ORIGINAL mixes, minus finalPop'n stage EX and original I think those are the two series :\ Other people are trying to emulate the bemani [DDR, Pop'n series, Guitar freaks, etc.] and bemani twinkle [iIDX] arcade systems, but there are supposedly complications
Juniel
those games would be better if played in arcades... that guitar game, if you had to play it with keyboard..it will not be as fun... I have DDR at home....it comes with 2 options... -playwith keyboard-play with stepping mat YOU SHOULD NEVER USE THE KEYBOARD.....it sucks.... Feyd Rautha
Simply put, I don't have the cash to shell out for imports. If Konami would get their head out of their ass, they would see that BM IIDX and Guitar Freaks could be very profitable in the states.
Juniel
are there no BM/guitar.... in states?? that's ridiculous... they even have them in NZ....

Juniel
I have ANDAMIRO's PUMP IT UP.... it is really good and apparently, it is also a good exercise...too bad the mat is not so common...
Feyd Rautha
are there no BM/guitar.... in states??Not officially. A lot of arcades have imported their machines. All Konami has really done is to release a crappy DDR USA like 4 years ago to the arcades. Of course there have been the numerous DDR home releases. I had heard a while back that a court put an injuction against Konami because, somehow, Andamiro claimed they had the patent on arcade rhythm games in the states thereby supposedly making it illegal to have import DDR machines. Don't know how much truth there is to that though. Edited January 13, 2004 by Feyd Rautha
Soundboz
Konami sued pump it up. pump it up claimed that they had a patent. no pump it up in japan. no ddr in us [new us mixes, they can still import]. I doubt it's true, the story changes every few months
