floopy
I just saw the trailer for Silent Hill 4: The Room. Damn, I get all nervous just thinking about it. Must be a pavlovian response or somethin'. The other games gave me the fear, big time. I'm a big horror movie fan, but no horror movie has frightened me as much as Silent Hill. Dare I undertake another hellacious journey into the depths of madness and depravity? Oh hell yeah! Anyone else anxiously awaiting another installment? Or rather, dreading it? Lightsier
Well, the big problem with all Silent Hill games is their only creepy the first time you go through them. Afterwards they get kinda lame. It would be cool to have a survial horror game with randomized events or better AI that can react incredibly smart to your moves or stalk you. SOMETHING to keep the game fresh. Now, the origional Silent Hill was pretty creepy the second time I played through it for a different ending, but a third time I was like "Oh, whatever." I think it was because the graphics were so bad on the PSX that it added to the horror of the whole thing. Part 2 after beating it once I was sorta bored trying to play through it again, but I wanted to see the dog ending. I haven't finished part 3 yet so I can't make a full decision. It wasn't like System Shock 2. For some reason I'm always creeped out when I played that game. It's probably because the enemies roam and you can get attacked while accessing the menus. Gryph
Aw man I love the Silent Hill games. Scary crap. My favorite horror game is System Shock 2 though. That was pure brilliance. I hope they make a third one. And floopy, I thought that was you in the picture...I guess I was way wrong. Unless you're a porn star EDIT:ALRIGHT! My 420th post! Time to roll a nice joint and smoke the night away Edited February 14, 2004 by GryphonKlaw
Agozer
You might want to look for Forbidden Siren as well. Back to Silent Hill... I still find those games damn scary at times, even when I'm replaying them. (The hospital)....damn, I'm never going into hospitals again....and the Prison in SH2, *shudder* Edited February 14, 2004 by Agozer
Captain FuKu
I still remember this: first time I played Silent Hill 2, I almost dropped my controller when that crawler demon or whatever just popped out from under a car -- I did not enjoy that.
