Rag Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 I got this new AIM, the one with the games and stuff. Its really annoying I think, anyway to downgrade? For some reason sometimes when people IM, it switches to that IM box and its really annoying because you'll be typing something then it switches. Anyway to make it more like the previous version???
Rag Posted February 19, 2004 Author Posted February 19, 2004 i dunno, i got it strait from AIM itself, it told me to upgrade so i clicked the upgrade button... ahh its bugging the hell outta me, plz help.
ForceX Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 (edited) Just use trillian 2.01 pro...It combines all of the major chatting programs into one (IRC, MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ etc) PM for a link.... Edited February 19, 2004 by ForceX

James Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 I like AIM, i dont really wanna switch to anything else, don't badger about why lol... It also doesnt make the sound when someone IMs me too...you will have to change the settings yourself and just so you know there is spyware in it called wildtangent which can be removed
Rag Posted February 20, 2004 Author Posted February 20, 2004 yea, got that, removed it still kinda annoying. Its like all the AOL users I talk to, it switches to them automatically for no reason.
Magus Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 I would stay clear of AIM. Use a third party program instead, try Miranda. I say this because AIM has yet another exploit released that allows for remote code execution. All someone has to do is send u a message. That's all, and u won't even know it.
Gryph Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 gAIM is the best 3rd party AIM program. It only has one skin for Windows but a whole bunch for Linux. The default skin is kinda gay so that's why I don't use it in Windows. I had it on my Linux box.
