N3oGhost
Ok heres the deal, i still have many DC games that i never got around to backing up and they are all stored on an 80gig external usb drive that is DYING!!!! I need your help in prioritizing what to try to save first. I may get lucky and be able to save it all but id like your input on what to work on first. As i cut games out of the external and onto the pc HDs ill let you know whats left. Also, if your interested in anything, ill be happy to upload to BOBS ftp (once ive freed them from the pits of hell!). Take a look at whats left and help me decide what to save!!! MY BABIES!!!! Sane
On basis of rarity/size: SpaceChannel5-promo mil cd never even heard of it, what is it? head_hunter_pal_multi_repack_dc-pulsar although it is on bob's ftp, it's bigSkies_Of_Arcadia_CD2_Repack_DC-ECHELON <DIR>Skies_Of_Arcadia_DC-ECHELON also big and a must-haveVirtua_Fighter_History-_JP_part_1 pretty rare, I want this too Silver cool game, pretty big dld and not too commonBomberman_Online_USA_DC-ECHELON Aerowings 2 pretyy common but big and a nice gameBlue stinger, dynamite cop, gundam 0079, psychic force, timestalkers, stupid invaders, maken x and flogian bros are also all worth saving, but don't stress over em, you can get em again easily. Well and the rest can either be easily redownloaded or isn't worth redownloading. If you like em save the sportsgames next, they're big too and save the japanese stufflast, most of what you have is no fun to play anyway due to the language barrier. N3oGhost
Like i mentioned before its an external usb harddrive by BuSLINK. its 80gig. what tends to happen after awhile is that it locks up and makes a funky noise like its turnin, stoppin, turnin again. the Access light blinks, pauses then blinks some more. It already takes long enough for me to cut stuff out of it and onto my pc hds. Sometime back i tried burning directly from the drive which resulted in corrupt/incomplete archives/rars as a result of the HD lockin up on me. So i feel that its death is coming soon. I considered defraggin it but am afraid the process will put the final stake in its heart. Ive already deleted gigs upon gigs of roms, ps2 games, etc just to give it some room to breath. Shibathedog
ok then do this, Open up the Drive and look inside, most likeley you will find a regular ol HDD with a bunch of adaptors and curciuts that are converting it to USB if its being converted, rip everything off the HDD, and install it as an internal HDD, this is how i saved my friends data, it worked very well and the drive still works because after i backed up everything, we reformatted and put it back in the USB thing If everything is soldered on, or just some weird HDD, copy as much over as you can, and good luck
BobRedthorp
No probs if you wanna upload to my FTP, there is plenty of space on it, just decide which games you don't want to lose and up em to the FTP. I would say upload: Space Channel 5 PromoSilverBlue Stinger There is no point in uploading Skies of Arcadia and Headhunter as they are already on the FTP, I'll just re-pack them with recovery bits on demand.
