shin_nihon_kikaku Posted May 5, 2004 Author Posted May 5, 2004 (edited) Does a serial cable connect through the 1394 adapter? If so, I only have this on my laptop. I guess that renders co-op Doom a non starter. oh well. Edited May 5, 2004 by shin_nihon_kikaku
Gryph Posted May 5, 2004 Posted May 5, 2004 Ol' skool Doom 2 Serial Co-op action my friend. better then halo Yes yes...that was damn awesome. Very ol' skool. DN3D was also fun over serial. And SNK, serial connections are old and connect to the serial port not firewire. Serial ports are about the size of a VGA port, maybe a bit bigger. I don't know if laptops still come with serial ports but look on the back of a desktop and there should still be atleast 1 serial port.

shin_nihon_kikaku Posted May 9, 2004 Author Posted May 9, 2004 I tried a Lan game on Quake 1 and the laptop PC said "no communications available (or found)" while trying to set up a game or join one. On desktop PC, it would let me create a game, but there is no point as the laptop wouldn't recognise it. The laptop is the one with the bridged connection. (which I have enabled and it still doesn't make any difference)
