Game Critics Nominees For Awards: Best Of E3 2004

The nominations for this year's Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2004 have just been revealed, with Halo 2 topping a list of triple-A behemoths. Halo 2 received four nominations, with Splinter Cell 3, God of War, Half-Life 2, and Jade Empire all garnering three apiece. Nintendo and EA were the most tipped publishers with games totalling eleven each listed.

 

The Game Critics Awards are voted for by some of the industry's most high profile reporters (not us, hmph), from publications like Time, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, CNN Money and USA Today. The final winners will be revealed on June the 8th, here are the nominations in full:

Best of Show - Half-Life 2

Best Original Game - Destroy All Humans!

Best PC Game - Half-Life 2 (Rome: Total War in second place)

Best Console - Halo 2

Best Peripheral - Nintendo DS (But the Phantom Gaming Service as a joke LOLOLOL)

Best Action Game - Half-Life 2 (Doom III is more of a horror game...)

Best Action/Adventure - Resident Evil 4 (no zombies...WTF!!!!111)

Best Fighting Game - SF Anniversary Edition

Best Role Playing - Fable (KOTOR II at a close second)

Best Racing - Gran Turismo 4

Best Simulation - The Movies (make my own movies!! w00t! And Full Spectrum Warrior as a close second. Sims 2 looks good but I don't want to get into it)

Best Sports - FIFA Soccer 2005 (Because soccer (football) ownz j00 all!)

Best Strategy - Rome: Total War (Hannibal on elephants!! 0wnage!)

Best Puzzle - I don't really care

Best Online Multiplayer - Worlds of WarCraft (Only game that has a real chance to topple Everquest. And Battlefield II as second.)

fable?..what is fable?.. it beat ffxii?.. wow..is it that good?.. i thought the final fantasy series were the best..?..

These are just nominees, not winners yet. But Fable is going to be this awesome RPG by Lionhead Studios (Peter Molyneux is uber genius) in which your actions actually make a difference on the inhabitants of the land. It is just going to own.
