Freeing Space?

I can probably figure this out myself but on my computer.

 

Program files is really only using 356 mbs but when i right cliked it

 

It was using 2.16 gigs

A glitchy third party programe, can sometimes make your computer run up to much virtual memory...

 

Not to sure but my guess is its a crappy programe your using, or your getting glitchis here and there.

Hmmm... Might be an erroneous hard disk info.... Try Scandisk (On Windows 9X/Me) or chkdsk (Win2K,XP)

 

Or a signal for a dying hard disk...... >.<

Do you have any hidden files which you did not take into consideration? How did you arrive at the 300MB value? Is the 2GB value the amount of disk space used, or the combined file size? Note that filesystems typically allocate disk space in fixed block sizes. So even if the file was 1 byte large, the smallest block size would be allocated, which usually is about 4KB. Although 300++MB -> 2GB is kind of stretching it.
