Did you get porno popups/ ads on emulation sites? :x I know.

I got to admit... Porno popups/ ads almost stopped me to go forward in emulation.

 

I remember, one of the sites, I think it was Retro Games had a bad banner ad, and oh my god..... I almost threw up.

 

It pisses me off how in emulation or warez or even sports sites, can put such crap on their site. How the heck do they get members...

 

If you are a porno fan, then ignore this thread... But I'll tell you this.. get a wife or a girlfriend... please...

 

The problem with the internet today is:

 

1. Its not filtered correctly, and sometimes full of junk.

 

2. If you type in one bad word in a search engine, your jaw would drop.

 

3. Spam, ads/ banners... are always going to be popping on your screen.

 

For example, one of my favorite forums is full of pop-ups/ banners. And you can't use a banner ads blocker or something or the downloads won't work. In fact in the PM box there is a small ad too.

 

Its get so crazy that sometimes your browser will freeze.

 

Why can't they just stick with the tv commercials... lol

Pops are out of control, I'll agree..

 

I can understand having some for money making, cause all sites need money.. but when you get beyond 3, it's a pain.

Yeah pop ups are annoying, easpecially if uved gone though loads of stuff to find that they have no roms or all the rom links dont work : "cannot retrieve file information" gggggrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

 

But some good sites need to have an income....hoe does this place survive with no adverts??

I have heard its very hard to make a living or a turnover of advertisments

when i upgrade my account i will have advertiseing may be? but no pop up unless its just like one or two but not too much.

And no porno!!

There's alot from free hosted message board such as hyperboards, the pop-up there is totally insane. But mind suggest everyone to use Pop up killer or any anti-pop-up programs.

I hate popups but when I browse emulation sites I use Opera and turn off images, media and pop ups. Which gives me super fast browsing so I can cut through most of the crap. The only time I turn it off is if you have to open an extra window to get to the rom.

 

I don't mind a good emulation site having the odd pop up because I value the time the guy/girl(let's not be sexist ) has put into making the site and giving me access! What I can't stand is sites that have millions of pop ups, votes and it all ends up being for nothing
