Aden Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Does anyone know of a good way to simulate practice mode in capcom fighting game roms? (mvc, sfa3 etc). Im using fba-xxx atm. Can't find an easy way.
Wizard Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 As far as I know CPS roms are arcade dumps, which have no console mode what so ever unlike the Neo-Geo.
Gryph Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 You can insert a coin for second player and let him just sit there.
Agozer Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 You can insert a coin for second player and let him just sit there.Which isn't really fun on the long run, because you can't set the life bars or Super bars to infinite... and yes, CPS games do not have a practice mode.

If you cheat you can. And whenever I practice I usually set the CPU to do something like punch which you can't accomplish in the CPS games.
SWAMP_THING Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 how about change the dip switches to the easiest level?
Agozer Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 how about change the dip switches to the easiest level? And what would that accomplish? The CPU would just move and do stuff which basically defeats the puepose of the "old school" Practice Mode; being able to practice moves without worrying that the other player does something.
Samurai Edge Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 I agree on the use player two part and I think some emu, not sure about fba, have cheats to make infinite energy guage, half not life guage.
BIGWORM Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 easiest way to 'practice' is get cheats for the game you want to 'practice' on, turn on Inf time and health for both players (or player 2, doesn't matter of course). BAM!!!
Lucandrake Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 That is the best way to practice.... Turn on Infenite power meter and health for player one and two, turn on infenate time, and then put in coins for player two, he'l just stand there not doing anything as long as nobody presses the players buttons.
