Doom 3....

Looks great from what I can tell from the trailer. Great attention to detail in the level design. But gameplay wise, I've never really gotten the whole "point" of FPS, especially the id ones. I mean, what? I run around in a room, shoot this, get that key, get out. Go to next level It feels more like a VR simulation than a game.

I take it that you don't pay much attention to FPS storylines, huh? ;)

I was aluding to id ones (Doom/Quake in particular). "You're a marine dropped into some alien base and you're to kill everything in sight." is hardly what I call a storyline. id's games are typically just showcases for their 3d engines. But I have to concede that the games which are made with their licensed tech fair a lot better in the game design/play department.

Unlike the first 2 dooms where you just blow the crap out of stuff thinking there is no storyline (there was...you just needed to read it :\)

This one has storyline...written by some guy whos famous...i think...

BE SURPIRISED!>!>!!?!?!?!!!11

From the Doom III review I have read, it sounds like it actually has a story which is a good thing.

I think I am going to upgrade my processor (or if I can find a nice cheap mobo+processor) and get some new RAM to get myself ready for Doom III and Half Life 2.
