Dynamo Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 I heard that it is yet another method of downloading "stuff". Can anyone school me on this and tell me if its as viable as the P2P's out there
Gryph Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 You have to know the FTP address, username, and password to use FTPs. FTPs are tougher to get. Gamecop seems to have a knack to find them. But once you find a good FTP, you'll find lots of stuff on them.
Dynamo Posted August 3, 2004 Author Posted August 3, 2004 I see, i was asking because there is a website with a ****load of video game soundtracks and they have an FTP thingy, so im sold. Im told that like BT and IRC, this requires a client. So, whats the best FTp client?
Ghosty Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 (edited) Well I'm Currently Using CoffeeFreeFTP There Also: ws_ftp, Heard It's Good, Cute Ftp, Havent Tried It. Well Thats All I Can Think Of For Now. Edited August 3, 2004 by 666Ghost
someboddy Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 FTP=File Transfer ProtocollI don't use a program. I just using the FTP server like a regular folder.
Agozer Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 I use an FTP program to transfer files to/from my two sites.
Chaotica Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 Does dial up + FTP downloads work? Or do you need a faster connection? And where do you find some of these FTP sites, usernames, and passwords?
