dat problem

well i grabed someones compile of mame 84u6 (i have no idea what to do with diff files ) and i wanted to make a dat out of it using romcenter but it gives me an error and i can't seem to make it

Well Alls I's Knows Is That The Diff File Is Made For Updating A MAME Scource Code, In That Case It Is MadeTo Update A MAME 84u5's Source Code. To Update Do This:

Put The MAME Scource Code In A Folder Unzip The Patch Tool Found At MAME32Plus! Put All The Diff Files In The Same Folder(Unzipped). Then Open The Command Prompt Then Type This In:

Patch -p1 <084u_.diff change The "_" To The u Number. You Also Have To Do u1 Then u2, u3, u4. u5, Then u6. After That Compile Mame. Instructions Found Here: http://www.mame.net/compilewin.html Well Thats One Place, Just Google "Compile MAME"

 

 

I Forgot To Say Is It Just The Diff, If So Do That Up There.

You need romcenter 2.70 beta 2 and the xml2info needs to be in the Mame directory for it to work.

thx james but it actually turned out it was the datutil that was out of date since the latest version doesn't need xml2info to be in the mame directory
