How do I make my Guilty Gear X work on XP?

The PC version of Guilty Gear X works on my downstairs computer, which is a Windows 98. I want to make it work on my new computer which is a Windows XP. When I click on the icon, the screen goes black and then returns back to normal. Can someone please help me?

Have you tried running in Win98 Compatiblity mode? Right click on the exe file and go to the Compatiblity tab and choose Win98.

I think the problem is, you're using windows. I don't have a solution to this problem, yet. But knowing the problem is the first step to solving it.

I think I could play succesfully on my PC before under WinXP.

I don't know, the compatibility thing didn't help but I remember there was a program that lets u run windows 98 programs under xp but I forget the name. Does anyone know the name???

Uh...VMWARE? I don't know, I'm just airing by brain here.

Err, is the game is English version or Japanese version. From what I know (I have the English version), I use cracked ones found from the internet to make it playable without a CD. It naturally works very well on Win98 and WinXP (just a little buggy for the music play only).
