was the zip drive for dc ever released

i already know that they planning a zip drive for a dreamcast but i thought it was never released and some guy is trying to collect it,so was it released.

It wasn't released to my knowledge. I know they were planning for one, along with a DVD plugin and MP3 player.

i thought it was strange,try in to collect something that doesnt exist(or maybe a protype does)so how was the zip drive suppose connect to the dreamcast serial port?it was a nice color too.

there are about 5 prototypes of each of those devices known to exist

well shiba,if u were to own one what would u do with it cuase they are prototypes so they probably have some flaws or nothing commercial works with them.

yeah, but just having them would rule. I collect everything DC.

 

I also want one of those cancelled N64 Disc Drives that where going to come out.

so u are willing to pay for something that may not work or maybe could be the best thing for that console.

It wouldn't work because well. Who would want it other then just a collector's Item?

I would try to use it. But coming on the short end. What would we do with it? Theres no software to even make it work.

Their isn't any know software to use it. So if you get it, it's just a dust collector/item.

i just wished they would have release the upgrades for the dreamcast dvd,mp3 vmu or something like that and to save on line stuff the zip drive i think it would have helped this doomed console.
