making banner

hey all.. i was wondering is there a program that allows me to make banners?.. what about that macromedia program?..is that only for flash?...

I think Fatal Rose is the best person to guide you on this.

 

But Photoshop is the standard in image editing. Or you can get The Gimp which is free and just as good.

CS is the latest version, so you should be using that?

PS7 > CS.

 

The learning curve is insane. But it's worth it afterwards.

 

If you're like me, who someone who uses different programs, because with each program, you can get the same options, yet a different effect, I use The GIMP (Freeware), Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop 7 + Elements (elements is sexy). Wider range of creation.

I too prefer PS7 even though I'm using CS now... CS messes up for me sometimes and then it doesn't let me use any cursors. It pisses me off.

It's not too much different, so I wouldn't worry so much.

 

Also, you're gonna notice that you don't know how to do cool stuff at first with Photoshop. Well, that's every else who started also. Just hunt down some cool tutorials, learn how to do stuff, and combine them or something to make your own cool effects. After a while it gets really easy (Though I still suck). Just keep on practicing, and you'll get good in no time.

I use photoshop cs and paint shop pro 8 (I have 9 but its a bit buggy atm)
