I hope you're joking. Everybody's heard about Blizzard. ;)

Blizzard Entertaintment is a the company that has made games such as Diablo, Diablo 2, Warcraft and Starcraft. They will be releasing Starcraft: Ghost, the offical sequal to Starcraft: Brood Wars Expansion that was released in 1999 on PC.

This has been the 3rd Starcraft-related mod to be shut down.

That sucks...

But taken from the Blizzard website:

Q: Is this StarCraft II?

A: No.

So they are making a sequel to an expansion pack? That's odd.

Ghost takes place right after the events of Brood War. So yes, it is the sequal.

Is that just one your conjectures or has that been stated by Blizzard that is a sequel to Broodwar?

But this is pure copyright infringement...if they made the same basic characters and didn't name it StarCraft: Xel'Naga Vengeance then it might have been able to pass. I mean...don't they think ahead about the ramifications of naming one of their projects something that is copyrighted?

Blizzard said it them selves in an interview in Gamepro Magazine for Ghost.

Oh ok... I wonder if it will be any good. I completely forgot about the game till it was just mentioned now.

Since this thread mentions Blizzard might as well pop this news in here.

Blizzard and NVIDIA announced that they have teamed up to give 1,000 closed beta slots of World of WarCraft away:

NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), a worldwide leader in graphics and digital media processors, today announced a collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment® for World of Warcraft®, the highly anticipated massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) set to release this holiday season.

NVIDIA and Blizzard are working together to ready the game for play on NVIDIA graphics processing units (GPUs), the preferred graphics hardware platform for World of Warcraft. The companies will also engage in strategic co-marketing activities as part of NVIDIA's "The Way It's Meant to Be Played" programme. To celebrate the collaboration, NVIDIA and Blizzard will randomly distribute 1,000 closed beta accounts to eager gamers hoping to be among the first to experience the game. Sign-ups will be held for one week only, starting today at www.nzone.com.

It's like a crappy version of Willy Wonka and the 5 Golden Tickets...
