Agozer Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 You'd probably need to hack the game. No Neo-Geo game to my knowledge has a cheat for reducing the damage taken (or given) unless such an option has been hardcoded into the game by the developers.
Robert Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 To be honest no-one has probably ever thought about it,or thought it was necessary or needed.
garyoak99 Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Do I use Nebula to run the following? Do I need to convert them into .bin files? What emulator do I use to run this?
Agozer Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Either NeoRAGEx or Nebula/Kawaks with a custom DAT file (i.e. make your own).
garyoak99 Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Either NeoRAGEx or Nebula/Kawaks with a custom DAT file (i.e. make your own). Which would be easier? Would I need a custom DAT file if I use NeoRAGEx? Would any of the files in this topic prove useful in making that custom DAT file?
Agozer Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 NeoRAGEx doesn't use DATs, it just simply scans the romset for "compatible files" and tries to run the set. Nebula and Kawaks need exact information about every file in the romset, hence why they need DAT entries to run romsets. Every file in that set is crucial, and it's a decrypted set. It will work in NeoRAGEx for this very reason (provided that the P1 rom is NRX compatible, so to speak). If you want to make a DAT, use the one below and modify it so that it matches your romset contents. System: NEO RomName: Samurai Shodown 5 Special Game: Samurai Shodown V SPECIAL [Program] ssvs_p1.rom,0,800000,EF5CD275,0 [Text] ssvs_s1.rom,0,20000,6F2601EB,0 [Z80] ssvs-m1.rom,0,20000,B5ABDA07,0 [Samples] ssvs_v1.rom,0,400000,32156CFE,0 ssvs_v2.rom,400000,400000,E46D2F8,0 ssvs_v3.rom,800000,400000,9AA45090,0 ssvs_v4.rom,C00000,400000,AD8FABB4,0 [Graphics] ssvs_c1.rom,0,800000,8548097E,0 ssvs_c2.rom,1,800000,8C1B48D0,0 ssvs_c3.rom,1000000,800000,96DDB28C,0 ssvs_c4.rom,1000001,800000,99EF7A0A,0 ssvs_c5.rom,2000000,800000,772E8B1E,0 ssvs_c6.rom,2000001,800000,5FFF21FC,0 ssvs_c7.rom,3000000,800000,9AC56A0E,0 ssvs_c8.rom,3000001,800000,CFDE7AFF,0 [System] CartridgeID: 272 GfxCrypt: 0 GfxKey: 0 ButLayout: 9 Fix: 0 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Of course, if you want to try the game in Nebula, you'll need a Loader. Paste the DAT to your NEOGEO.DAT and start editing.
slivers7 Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Hi, err. Just wanted to ask around. I've got 2 versions, one that runs with the wrong sound (I think it's from the SS5 version), and the second one which seems to be mostly encrypted and doesn't work for my emulator (Kawaks). Here's the one with the wrong sound: Name Size (bytes) CRC272d-c1.rom 8388608 8548097E272d-c2.rom 8388608 8C1B48D0272d-c3.rom 8388608 96DDB28C272d-c4.rom 8388608 99EF7A0A272d-c5.rom 8388608 772E8B1E272d-c6.rom 8388608 5FFF21FC272d-c7.rom 8388608 9AC56A0E272d-c8.rom 8388608 CFDE7AFF272d-m1.bin 131072 18114FB1272d-p1.rom 8388608 3E3961F5272d-s1.rom 131072 C297F973272d-v1.bin 4194304 6849136C272d-v2.bin 4194304 222E1774272d-v3.bin 4194304 CD9E7ADC272d-v4.bin 4194304 8B305CAC And this is the encrypted one that doesn't work: Name Size (bytes) CRC272-c1.bin 8388608 4F97661A272-c2.bin 8388608 A3AFDA4F272-c3.bin 8388608 8C3C7502272-c4.bin 8388608 32D5E2E2272-c5.bin 8388608 6CE085BC272-c6.bin 8388608 05C8CD8E272-c7.bin 8388608 1417B742272-c8.bin 8388608 D49773CD272-m1.bin 524288 ADEEBF40272-m1_decrypted.bin 524288 203D744E272-p1.bin 4194304 FB7A6BBA272-p2.bin 4194304 63492EA6272-v1.bin 8388608 76A94127272-v2.bin 8388608 4BA507F1 What I'd like to know is if there's anyway I can get a perfect working set out of them?

So what emulator are you useing for this rom set ? Either NeoRAGEx or Nebula/Kawaks with a custom DAT file (i.e. make your own). Which would be easier? Would I need a custom DAT file if I use NeoRAGEx? Would any of the files in this topic prove useful in making that custom DAT file? The simple answer would be to use an emulaor that supports it, Since Mame FBA Kawaks supports this game there is no need in useing silly hacked decrypted sets and hacked emu's I have no idea why people still want to use these messed up roms when there are proper ones to use Just download the rom set that the emu supports problem solved .
slivers7 Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 So what emulator are you useing for this rom set ? Well, currently WinKawaks 1.45 that uses a custom loader, but it'd be great if I can get it to work on NRX as well!
Robert Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Perhaps you should upgrade to WinKawaks 1.56 instead.

Well, currently WinKawaks 1.45 that uses a custom loader, but it'd be great if I can get it to work on NRX as well! I would get the latest version of kawaks since it supports that game now and get the rom set for it as well Is there any other reason why you are still useing kawaks 1.45 ? I see no reason to use NRX anymore when there are much better emu's out there now ( NRX is very old now ) . Maybe I might create a fully Decrypted set from the proper Encrypted set that should work on NRX .I need to find my old copy of NRX though
