A goofy experiment: Make your own Roster!

This might have been done here before, but I haven't seen it so why the heck not. It's just for fun, and it's all opinion, so please no flames or "heated debates" over anyone's list or the rules, etc.

 

All this talk about CFJ and NGBC lately has stirred up something I've thought about for a while. Here goes nothing: come up with your own Capcom vs. SNK roster! Here are some really simple guidelines to keep it interesting, and to make sure we start on the same page, please try and stick with these in this thread:

 

A few rules:

1) All characters must have previously appeared as a combatant in a 1 on 1 (or 3 vs 3, etc) fighting game, including up to CFJ and NGBC. This does NOT mean side scrollers or beat 'em ups, etc. They have to have been playable or computer controlled in a pure fighting game.

2) 2D AND 3D fighters count. 3D characters are assumed to be made over like Kyosuke, etc.

3) No Marvel characters on the Capcom side.

4) Only one version of any given character. No "Super" or "Evil" versions, etc.

5) This is purely a dream match, with no pretense for story, etc. Time period, etc does not matter. Characters from different games are assumed to be play-balanced so they work in the same game.

 

The Roster:

18 Characters per side

 

The roster can be made up however you like, but each side must have at least:

4 Signature Characters

1 Big Character (Just physically large, like Zangief, Raiden, Hugo, etc)

1 Grapple Character

1 Charge Character (Like Blanka, Ash, etc)

1 Agility/Speed Character (Like Rolento, Nakoruru, Spanish Ninja, etc)

1 "Unusual" Character (In how they play, not their design.. Like Dhalsim, Guy, Vice etc)

1 Mid Boss Character (Can be anyone, doesn't have to be an old boss. Can't have more than 1)

1 Final Boss Character (Can be anyone, doesn't have to be an old boss. Can't have more than 1)

 

You can have more than the specified number in any category except Mid and Final Boss. I'll leave it up to you to decide who fits what categories. A single character can cover multiple categories; Big Character and Grapple Character, for example. Even if you use one category per character, you still have 7 characters per side to choose any way you like.

 

Put any categories after the character listing, like so:

Ken (Signature)

Guile (Signature, Charge)

Dan

Hugo (Big, Grapple)

E. Honda

etc etc..

 

 

That's it, I'll post mine in a bit. I don't know if anyone's going to take the time to do this but if you do, be creative and have fun!

I was going to allow these, but really only because I like D. Dark. We'll hold to this then.

 

Oh yeah, and the megaman power battle games don't count either. As that would open up a ton of megaman bosses that don't really fight like fighter chars.

I like that both of your lists avoid over-using the more common characters. This speaks volumes. Heck, I'm not even sure who some of those characters are.
