shin_nihon_kikaku Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 I've just switched from Internet Explorer (for the 1st time) to Firefox (thanks to Gryphonklaw's amazing advertising). Just wondering how to get rid of the "auto-complete" in the address bar and anywhere else. I hate this feature in any browser. So is there an option to do this or not? Thanks.
Gryph Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 Hmm...good question. I don't know. You should ask this question over here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38 That's the Community Help forum for Firefox.
Agozer Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 Wow, I never noticed Mozilla Firefox had autocomplete.
Weirdy Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 for some reason the autoupdate thingie doesn't work for me
ken_cinder Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 Firefox has autocomplete? Not for me, even the slightest mistake in a url and it gets bunked (like blahblah.co instead of.com and nada) Maybe it's an option that I disabled? Did you look around in the settings?
Samurai Edge Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 Fire Fox seems not bad for me, but it's just a little too slower than my IE.
Adel151 Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 FireFox kicks major a$$ whats this auto complete? where is this displayed at?Firefox also has some nice themes to. so go scoop some up
Ryuken Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 (edited) click tools -> options -> privacy -> the + on saved form information -> uncheck the box click tools -> options -> privacy -> the + on history and type in 0days Edited October 17, 2004 by Ryuken
Daeval Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 If you can't do it, just clear your history once in a while and no one will know you're browsing for porn.
shin_nihon_kikaku Posted October 17, 2004 Author Posted October 17, 2004 It's not actually Auto-Complete but the tab that you can click next to the address bar that lists all previously visited sites. I already figured it out by taking Gryphs advice about using a Firefox forum. And Ryuken's method is the one that worked for me (although I got that info from elsewhere, but thanks anyway Ryuken).
