Testing Details

 

Who is eligible to test?

 

This is an open Beta. Please feel free to share any information about this Beta and to pass a link to the Beta landing page on to friends and family

 

We do NOT suggest using Beta software unless you are familiar with manually removing the product (including in Safe Mode). Remember that there is NO technical support for the Beta versions.

 

How to test (Please read carefully):

 

  1. Before you install this Beta please make sure to backup your old settings (if you have an older client installed) by using the backup and restore functionality in the current shipping version of your ZoneAlarm client.

  2. Please reboot your PC after install (clean install or upgrade)

  3. Submit all feedback through our Feedback form only.

  4. When you are through testing, uninstall the Beta software (you will be asked to participate in a quick uninstall survey)

 

How to help make this Beta more successful:

 

The items listed below are just some suggestions of how to test this beta. Most important for us is that you use your machine the same way you do any other day. Run the same programs, browse the same pages, send mails and and so on.

 

  1. Please make sure to run your machine overnight and see if the experience is the same after it has been running for hours/days or if you experience slowdowns, blocked traffic and so on (Important)

  2. Make sure to click all panels and verify that they load and refresh correctly.

  3. Test each of the features

  4. Keep an eye on system stability and resource usage while running the Zone Labs Beta

  5. Please make sure to do what you always do on your machine and let us know what issues, if any, you experience. Browse the web, send emails, run other programs you usually run and so on.

  7. If you report a BSOD, system/program hang or client/truevector crash, please make sure to send us your error logs (instructions can be found on the confirmation mail you will receive when you submit feedback, including your error-submission case number, which will change for every submission you do.)
